Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I park?
Museum Parking is available at the Broadway Street Entrance. The handicapped parking spot is near the front gate.
What is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers?
The main depot has a ramp that you can access on the south side of the building. Many strollers and some wheelchairs can fit in the military cars as well. Unfortunately, the train cars are not accessible by wheelchair or stroller.
Are there restrooms? Water fountains?
Yes, we have two public restrooms and a water fountain inside the depot.
Is this place good for kids?
Yes! We have worked hard to make the museum and park a family-friendly place where you can learn and have fun together. All of our exhibits are interactive and designed for all levels and types of learning.

If you have any other needs, please talk to the person at the front desk or contact us in advance. We want your family to have a safe, fun visit to the museum.
Can we picnic here?
Yes, we hope you will. We have a small picnic pavillion near the south end (Vine Street) of the park. There are also several picnic tables scattered around the park.
Can I book a private tour?
Yes, we are happy to provide custom private tours for your group. Please contact us at least a week in advance with this form.
Can we schedule a field trip to the museum?
Absolutely! We love hosting field trips and have a range of activites we can do depending on your group.

No, the house is used for collections storage and offices. During a recent examination of the house, we discovered that there is some structural work that needs to be completed before large groups can enter the house.
Is this a real train station?
Yes, it functioned as the administrative station for the Tooele Valley Railway from 1909 to 1982.
Is there a train to ride?
Not right now, but we hope to have one someday. Right now, you can enter two of our historic cars and our steam locomotive, Engine 11.
